Abiding Presence Lutheran Church, 1550 Walton Blvd, Rochester Hills, MI 48309, USA
Our book is Anchored in the Current: Discovering Howard Thurman as Educator, Activist, Guide and Prophet, edited by Gregory C. Ellison, II. Contemporary scholars and activists discuss the important work of Thurman, a mystic, activist and educator during the Civil Rights era in the U.S. It is said that Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. never went anywhere without a Bible and a copy of Thurman’s Jesus and the Disinherited. Read this book with others from church to learn about Thurman and his contribution to American religious life and to activists pursuing racial justice.

Camino on Zoom
Camino on Zoom
January 13, 2021 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Join us for Camino on Zoom every other Wednesdays at 7 pm. As a world community we have not faced a pandemic in over a century. This time is a new journey for each of us and an opportunity to ask ourselves how will we be changed by this experience. To give us a chance to check in with each other and be mindful of this new time as an opportunity to grow in faith, we are offering a time for us to gather. We will check in, share our joys and struggles of sheltering in place, and pray together.

Souper Bowl Fundraiser
Souper Bowl Fundraiser
January 24, 2021
Many within our community continue to struggle with difficult financial choices including enough food for their families. In response to this need, we are reviving an old Abiding Presence tradition where we collect Souper Bowl funds to be used to stock the shelves of Neighborhood House. Please consider participating in this event on January 24.
We have received approval for a Thrivent Action Team grant and will couple that with the donations made by the congregation to contribute to the food pantry at Neighborhood House.
Please mark your contributions for “Souper Bowl”. We will also accept food donations which can be dropped off at AP and we will deliver to Neighborhood House. Thank you for your support.
